Game’s setup
After shuffling of cards, through discarding a card, a dealer is chosen. The dealer distributes cards to each player as follows:

  • If only 2 players are in the game then 10 cards are dealt to each player.
  • If 3 or 4 players are in the game then 7 cards are dealt to each player.
  • If the players are 5 or 6 in numbers then 6 cards dealt to each player.

The left out cards are kept face down in the middle of the desk to form the stock pile or from the draw pile. The cards which are either discarded from the stock pile or from the discard pile are placed face up in the middle of the table, form the discard piles.

Card Game Rules to play

All players must follow the below rules on their turn to play the game and these are as follows:

  • In each turn a card is drawn by each player either from the top of the stock pile or from the top of the discard pile.
  • To win the game a player should try to make melds of cards of the same types.
  • A player ought to discard 1 card, and should put it on the top of the discard pile. In such situation a player may choose not to discard if all his cards are melded and so discarding of card by him is not necessary.

Melding, Laying Off and Going out

A card can be melded in two situations and these are:

  • Runs or Sequences of 3 or more successive cards of the same suit.
  • Sets of 3 or 4 cards of the same rank.

A “laying off” can occurs if meld is already created by a player and another player have also created a meld. The laid off cards are placed before to the player on the desk.
Examples are as follows:

  • A player has created a meld that contains three 7s then another player can lay off an eight.
  • A meld has been created by a player in which 6, 7, 8 of hearts are present. Then another player can lay off the Jack of Hearts or the seven of Hearts or both.
  • A melds which consists 5, 6, 7 of clubs by one player then another player can lay off six or seven of clubs.

If a player plays is playing his last card either by laying off, melding or discarding then the player is considered "goes out".This turn gets point whenever a player goes out. And the cards which are left in other players' hands are accredited to the victor of the hand like this:

  • In the Rummy game Aces usually scores 1 point.
